The stools made by the Kamayurá, Mehinaku and Waujá ethnic groups extend the concept of function to the symbolic dimension. Among the peoples who create them, according to the context they assume the cosmological and ritual dimension or the daily and banal use. In non-indigenous societies they are seen as objects of art, design and artifact, opening new horizons for reflection on the complex interrelations between traditional arts and contemporary culture.
