ART IS WHO I AM
An interview with John Baldessari at his studio in Venice, Los Angeles. The conceptual artist is about to turn 85 and reflects here about his career, cultural influences and the power of language. “My perception of the city is very ugly. But that’s attractive too. It’s very seductive.”

COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE?
One of the main aesthetic dilemmas of photography is detailed on this essay (in portuguese) by Mauricio Puls. “Color os black and white? Reasons of a choice” goes from Aristotle to Flusser, mentioning Hegel, Goethe and even the economist Adam Smith. Puls evaluates that color is more related to reality, while black and white deals with the abstract above all. A must-read!

VERY ANIMATED
Warming up for the weekend, I’ve discovered the James Curran’s gifs on Twitter (@slimjimstudios) and I can’t stop watching them! They’re cute – and “very animated”, as he says!
