In the midst of the worsening of the situation involving COVID-19 in Brazil, it is our commitment to guarantee the safety and health of exhibitors and visitors. Therefore, we believe that the best course of action at this time is to suspend the 16th edition of SP-Arte, that would take place from April 1st to 5th, at the Bienal Pavilion, until we have adequate conditions for its realization.
SP-Arte maintains a firm commitment to the art market and cultural programming in São Paulo, and understands that the event is an important moment for the entire circuit. Precisely for this reason, it is our priority to ensure the integrity of all those involved in the organization of the Fair. Based on daily monitoring, we endeavored until the last moment to keep SP-Arte as planned. We carefully evaluated all possible options alongside our partners, sponsors and exhibitors and decided, together and with great regret, to suspend the event.
However, in view of the declaration of pandemic by the World Health Organization, the holding of an event of this nature and proportion is compromised. Given the international scale of the Fair, we still have no way to calculate the logistical and operational impacts, which are increasing every day with mobility restrictions and border closures. We continue to evaluate alternatives to make the 16th edition of SP-Arte feasible at a more opportune time, and we will keep all our public informed about any developments.
Sincerely,
SP-Arte
