365 Curatorship : Interview with Regina Galvão

For the occasion of 365 Curatorship, held in partnership with the Preview platform, SP–Arte receives four new curators on its website.
We spoke here with curator Regina Galvão, who signs the selection “Design With History”.

Could you tell us a bit about what guided your curatorship in this first edition of Curadoria 365?
RG : Most pieces are sculptural and of different materials: wood, metal, soapstone, clay and wool. A diversity that represents the universe of Brazilian design so well. I did not seek newly released pieces in the selected items — the only novelty is the Alva Design vases —, but I researched the concepts and stories behind each product and what led its authors to define them.
How do you see the possibility of curatorships via virtual platforms?
RG : I see it in a positive way and I believe that these adaptations are happening more and more rapidly, because the virtual world is a path of no return, with or without the pandemic.
